I remember growing up, I would get to choose what we had for dinner on my birthday. It was usually pizza or McDonald's. Today feels like a mini birthday because my mom said I can choose what we have for dinner. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and gravy - delicious! It's a bittersweet last meal as we say goodbye to my mom and thank her for her hospitality during our six-week stay. We will miss her and can't wait to see her again in October.
As we head to Pakistan, we have one more meal in the Turkish Airlines lounge and then an early morning landing in Pakistan. We've also got some airplane food for the journey. Ivana's favorite part of our six-week vacation in Canada was getting married. We're excited for the next leg of our trip.
Flight and Airport Experience
After a 10-hour flight, we arrive at the airport feeling good. We find a lounge to relax in and enjoy some delicious food. Turkish food is always a great choice. We had a funny encounter with someone who asked us where my mother was, but it turned out to be a friendly comment. We're only a six-hour plane ride from Pakistan, so we're getting closer.
Arrival in Pakistan
Our honeymoon in Pakistan starts at 3 a.m. At this early hour, we arrive at Islamabad airport, which is significant, shiny, and relatively empty. We exchange currency and head to our apartment, which is spacious, clean, and well-lit. We're glad to be back in Pakistan and excited to explore the streets for food later.
Our Apartment
Our apartment is brand new and still has plastic on the lamps. It's a great place with all the amenities we need. It even has a balcony and a water heater for the shower. We notice some batteries on top of the kitchen cabinets, which we assume are for backup power. We're happy with our new home in Pakistan.
Future Plans
We have 30 days on our visa, but we plan to extend it for longer, possibly up to six weeks. We're excited to explore more of Pakistan and share our adventures with you. We'll release vlogs thrice weekly and do a live stream every Sunday. Stay tuned!
